Views on the River

Cowichan RiverThe Cowichan River meanders through the town of Lake Cowichan. A Canadian Heritage River, it is internationally famous for its fly fishing, wild salmon and steelhead trout.

Spending a leisurely afternoon floating on a tube through the town, out to “Little Beach” is a favourite activity of locals and tourists. The River is also navigable by kayak or canoe.

Hike the Trans Canada Trail (47 KM) which winds its way along the river from Duncan and ends in Lake Cowichan.
